Overview:

If you search in the correct spot during a moment of need, you can come upon an odd phone number written in red. A young man introducing himself as the Yato God will answer this phone. Yato, a minor deity who calls himself the "Delivery God," aspires to have millions of followers. But his dreams are a long way from coming true if there isn't even one temple bearing his name. For five yen apiece, he works various jobs throughout the day until his weapon companion gives up on him because she is tired of her inept master.The god's luck appears to be running out when Hiyori Iki, a middle school student, purports to save Yato from a vehicle accident by bearing the consequences on his behalf. She miraculously lives, but the ordeal has set her soul free, allowing it to depart from her body. Reluctantly, Hiyori offers to assist Yato in finding a new partner after realizing that he needs one in order to fulfill Hiyori's desire that she return to normal. And it looks like Yato's luck is finally improving with Hiyori's assistance.
