 Overview:

The year 2015 finds the world on the verge of catastrophe. Nerv, a special UN organization, and their Evangelions—huge machines that can vanquish the Angels that predict Earth's destruction—hold the last hope for humanity. The organization's leader, Gendou Ikari, is looking for suitable pilots who can synchronize with the Evangelions and reach their full potential. Talented staff members Ritsuko Akagi, Chief Scientist, and Misato Katsuragi, Head of Tactical Operations, are supporting this defensive effort. The ordinary life of fourteen-year-old Shinji Ikari is irrevocably altered when he is carried away into the depths of Nerv, where he meets his father for the first time in years. and into a terrifying new fate: he has to take on the role of Evangelion Unit-01's pilot, carrying the weight of humanity's future. Neon Genesis Evangelion, penned by Hideaki Anno, is the inspirational story of a young child who grows up to become a legend.
