That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

Overview:

Satoru Mikami, a thirty-seven-year-old corporate worker, is happy enough with his boring life in Tokyo save from the fact that he has never, ever gotten a girlfriend. He is attacked by an unknown attacker on the streets while having a friendly conversation with his coworker. But as he succumbs to his wounds, an odd voice speaks in his head, reciting a series of orders that the dying man is unable to understand. Upon regaining consciousness, Satoru finds himself in a strange new world, reincarnated as a slime goop. As a result, he gains additional abilities, most notably, the ability to imitate anything's look and capabilities by consuming it. The sealed Catastrophe-level monster "Storm Dragon" Veldora, who had been imprisoned for the previous 300 years after destroying a village to ashes, is later discovered by him. Satoru, who is sympathetic to his situation, makes a friend of him and offers to help break the seal. In exchange, Veldora gives him the name Rimuru Tempest and promises him heavenly protection. Freed from the tedium of his previous existence, Rimuru sets out on a new quest with a clear objective. His smushy antics spread around the universe as he adjusts to his new body, slowly changing his destiny.
